Health and Physical EducationPPL208/209 HEALTHY ACTIVE LIVING
This course emphasizes regular participation in a variety of enjoyable physical activities (e.g., Basketball, badminton, weight training/aerobics, soccer, football, volleyball, self-defense, etc)
PPL3O8/309 HEALTHY ACTIVE LIVING Continued coverage from grade 10 activities with more focus on strategy and game play. In addition new and exciting activities are introduced, such as archery, golf, bowling, etc.
PPZ301 PERSONAL FITNESS & WEIGHT TRAINING (HEALTH FOR LIFE) Develop your personal fitness through weight training programs, cardio-activities, pilates, yoga, boxercise, body sculpting, and weight management through proper nutritional patterns that will aid in proper weight loss and muscle building.
PAD301 OUTDOOR EDUCATION This co-ed course is designed for students interested in pursuing outdoor activities such as orienteering, snowshoeing, ropes, cross-country skiing, canoeing, first aid, basic camp craft and survival skills. The course culminates with a canoe trip.

PPL401 HEALTHY ACTIVE LIVING (LEISURE PURSUITS) A fun co-ed PHE course with emphasis on variety and choice of activities. Carry-over activities may include curling, bowling, golf, skating, tennis, squash, racquetball, hockey, badminton, volleyball, hiking, mountain biking etc. . .
PAF401 PERSONAL FITNESS & WEIGHT TRAINING Students develop and apply their own fitness program. Aerobic workout, body sculpting, weight training, studio cycling, swimming, yoga, pilates, boxercise, fitness circuits are all possible units. Principles of nutrition will be studied in order to effectively design meals to gain tone and strengthen muscles while losing fat. Workouts will occur in our new state of the art fitness center.

The student will be exposed to many different styles of dance (media, hip hop, ballet, chacha, merengue, salsa, casino rueda,
ATC 30 DANCE
Extension of the grade 10 dance program. Students will have many opportunities to choreograph and perform dances. Theory includes analysis and history of music. Dances include modern, hip hop, step, salsa, chacha and East Indian.
PSE4U1 EXERCISE SCIENCE
This course is for the students interested in a career in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Medicine, Nursing, Recreation and Sports Medicine. This course focuses on the study of human movement and development. Students will study units on Anatomy, Physiology, Fitness, Nutrition, Business and History of Sport, Biomechanics and Sport Psychology.
PLF4C1 LEADERSHIP
This course focuses on the development of leadership and coordination skills to recreational activities. Students will acquire the knowledge and skills to plan, organize, and implement school tournaments and special events. They will also learn how to promote the value of physical fitness, personal well-being, and personal safety to others through mentoring. The course will prepare students for college programs in recreational, leisure, and fitness leadership. This course will develop your leadership potential and build your resume for application to your desired future profession.
